The City Centre is proposed to have the Peace Area with the Matrimandir, the banyan tree, the amphitheatre, the lake and the gardens and a part of each of the four zones of Auroville viz: residential, cultural, international & industrial.There is another special use zone called the 'Crown' which traverses the city centre area in a circular manner, which will provide most of the different service facilities required in the specific zone.
